Halong Bay, literally Bay of the Descending Dragon, is a UNESCO World Heritage site located near Hanoi and Haiphong, Vietnam. The bay features hundreds of limestone karst islands in various sizes and shapes that poke out into the bay. Boat trips range from backpacker cheapies to luxurious overkill. It is very much worth doing an overnight on a junk, so as to catch the sunset and sunrise over the bay.
