Sihanoukville is Cambodia's premier beach town with miles of white sand beaches, picturesque islands and warm tropical waters. Founded as a port town half a century ago, these days Sihanoukville is now more of a beach town popular with weekenders from Phnom Penh and an increasing number of foreign visitors, and resident expat retirees.

  • Submerged fishing boat at Ochheuteal Beach or Serendipity Beach, Sihanoukville. Abandoned by its owners, the boat slowly sinks into the sand creating a sort of beach objet unbeknownst to its owners.

  • Ochheuteal Beach is sometimes called Serendipity Beach.  The beach is Sihanoukville's longest and most active with all kinds of activities, water sports, beach cafes and of course clean, warm tropical waters.

  • Golden Lions Traffic Circle.  The golden lions are the symbol of Sihanoukville and a great landmark for navigating the various roads that intersect at the roundabout or traffic circle where they are found.

  • Monk at Serendipity Beach.  Even monks have to take a break every so often from a long day of meditation, chanting and gathering alms. A day at the beach is a treat for everyone.

  • Cambodian Childrens Painting Project, a local NGO that tries to get Cambodian kids off the streets and beaches selling trinkets to tourists and back to school.  First and foremost, the project tries to get the kids to express their creativity by painting, teaches them English, sends them to the local school and helps support their families if necessary.
