Asia has many UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Luang Prabang, Hoi An and Penang are special for the blend of architecture that has been preserved there. My Son, the Great Wall of China, the Forbidden City, Borobudur and Angkor Wat are all well known for their history, archeological discoveries and ruins. Toshogu Shrine in Nikko is special for its unique design. Japan is particularly rich in these protected sites, especially Kyoto.
