keiunkan-4.jpg
Keiunkan was created by the Ogawa Jihei and said to be one of his masterpieces. A three-dimensional pond strolling garden with large undulations of the terrain, such as a deep pond in the center. It is an extraordinary design that overwhelms the viewer, in which the artificial hills, ponds, pine trees and megaliths are in harmony with each other. In the past, Lake Biwa was visible from the garden. Within the grounds Eroan Teahouse is found - built together with the main building. Keiunkan is listed as a nationally designated scenic spot.
