Kuan An Keng Shrine was built by a group of chinese who followed King Taksin from Ayutthaya to Thonburi to found a new capital. Later it was rebuilt and an image of Chao Mae Kuan-in was enshrined inside. The shrine, next to Wat Kanlayanamit, is in the care of the Simasathian family, who have resided in the area for decades.
