Heian Shrine or Heian-jingu in Japanese is a Shinto shrine ranked at the top rank for shrines by the Association of Shinto Shrines in Japan. It is listed as an important cultural property of Japan. Its architecture design was a reproduction of the Emperor’s palace and The architecture of tmirrors the style and features of the Kyoto Imperial Palace, that is, the style from the 11th and 12th century Heian Period. The Shrine’s torii is one of the largest in Japan.
