Soft Demand Sod Lotion - The fractured English on logos, signs, menus and T-shirts in Japan are a never-ending source of amusement for both travelers and foreign residents of Japan, especially those of us from English-speaking countries. Although there was a brief spike in correct English leading up to and during the 1964 Olympics, ever since it has been downhill all the way. So far, there has been little sign (get it?) that the English on menus, products, signs and most famously public toilets, is yet to improve by the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. But never mind, in a way the unusual signs in English are always fun, and sometimes you can even guess what they actually mean. There is even a web site & blog devoted exclusively to odd signs, menus, logos and whatnot in English. Visit www.engrish.com (yes, that is an ‘R’) for your daily dose of Fun English….There is currently no shortage of material.
