Gyotoku was famous for its salt production as Gyotoku Salt Field during the Edo period. Tokuganji Temple was founded in this area in 1610 by Tokugawa Ieyasu. Its lawn-covered garden from the rest area is respendant with its wisteria trellis and a dry stream paved with cobblestones. Blue stones and other materials are used for the rock work of the bank.
