Suijokoen Japanese Garden - Gyoda Water Castle Park is officially known as Suijokoen - Besides the large pond at Suijokoen Water Castle Park there is a Japanese pond garden. This is a large park centered around the marsh of the outer moat of Oshi Castle in Gyoda. It is also known as a famous spot for water hyacinth. After Oshi Castle was demolished, the outer moat was called Oshinuma, but it was gradually reclaimed extending from Gyoda City Hall. The southern end where water still remains was opened in April 1964 as Shinobu Park the predecessor of Mizuki Park.
