Wat Nong Bua has a unique, large white angular chedi, a replica of the Mahabodhi Bodhgaya in India where the Buddha found enlightenment. The structure was built in 1957 to commemorate the 2500 anniversary of the death of Buddha. The walls are beautifully carved scenes of Buddhist scriptures.
