The Flag Tower of Hanoi is one of the symbols of the city and a part of the Hanoi Citadel. The tower was built in 1812, and unlike other structures in Hanoi, was not destroyed during the French administration as it was also used by the French as a military post. Now it is a part of the Vietnam Military History Museum. The National Flag of Vietnam is on top of the tower.
