Ammophila is a genus consisting of similar species of wild grass. Marram Grass, Bent Grass, and Beachgrass are their common names. These grasses are almost always found along coastal sand dunes. Their systems of creeping underground stems allow them to thrive under harsh conditions, high winds. These xerophytes can withstand arid conditions such as deserts or sandy beaches.
