Kandyan Dancer Twirling Through the Air - Kandy dance is a form that originated in Kandy. According to legend the dances lies in an exorcism ritual which was originally performed by Indian shamans who came to Sri Lanka. The dancers wear an elaborate costume including a headdress and the dancer's chest is covered by a decorative beaded net.
