The spinner dolphin Stenella longirostris is a dolphin found in tropical waters - they are famous for their acrobatic displays in which they spin as they leap through the air. The spinner dolphin has more geographic variation in form and color than other cetaceans. In the eastern Pacific they have smaller skulls and even a dwarf form is found around Southeast Asia. Some populations of spinner dolphins found in the eastern Pacific have bizarre backwards dorsal fins.
