Kandawgyi Lake literally "great royal lake" was once known as Royal Lake) - one of two major lakes in Yangon. Located east of the Shwedagon Pagoda, the lake is artificial; water from Inya Lake is channelled through a series of pipes to Kandawgyi Lake.
