The Apsara Arts Association is a local NGO created in 1998 with the mission of training young Cambodians music, dance and theater. Cambodian culture is one of the oldest ones in Southeast Asia though after the last three decades, much has been destroyed including arts and culture. Therefore, artists from the Royal University of Fine Arts led by Mr. Chhay Sopha and Mrs. Vong Metry collectively decided to establish the Apsara Arts Association to train young artists especially orphans and the disadvantaged.
