Coffee trees are perennial dicotyledon that belongs to the Rubiaceae family. The beans that grow from these plants are commonly called coffee cherries. There are different coffee species, but two main species are cultivated: Arabica and Robusta. Kona coffee is one of the most expensive coffees in the world. The combination of sunny mornings, cloudy and rainy afternoons, little wind and mild nights combined with mineral rich volcanic soil creates ideal coffee growing conditions.
