Tozenji Temple Garden - Taiyozan Tozenji is an ancient temple that is recorded in history as having been founded by Prince Shotoku in 612 during the Asuka period. The temple features a dry landscape garden designed by Yoshikawa Isao, who studied under Shigemori Mirei, and a pond garden behind the main hall that is thought to date back to the Edo period. The rock garden in front of the main hall is a dry landscape garden with 12 rocks arranged against the backdrop of the Yamanashi mountains, and was created in 1988
