baan-sao-nak-3.jpg
Baan Sao Nak is old teak house built in Lanna style with 116 pillars, believed to have been constructed in 1895. This wooden teak house is a remarkable example of the combination of Burmese and Lanna styles of architectures. While the verandah around the house is designed in Burmese style, the roof, general structures and the living areas are constructed in Lanna style. In the Thai language, Ban Sao Nak means house of many pillars. The house was once considered as a symbol of forest wealth present all around the province of Lampang.
