Hawi Wind Farm at Upolu Point, the northernmost tip of Hawaii Big Island on the Kohala Coast. The wind farm is made up of sixteen 660 kW wind turbines and is able to produce 10.56 MW. HELCO bought the farm and has been operated by Hawi Renewable Development on behalf of Hawaii Electric Light Company. Hawi Wind Farm was the first such development of wind energy in Hawaii.
