It can also mean from the hill. The Ifugao build their thatched huts elevated with wooden posts. These houses are known as fales.The ladder is removed so strangers or animals cannot enter the fale. Highland tribal peoples inhabit the six provinces of the Cordilleras in the Philippines. Igorot is the collective name of these ethnic groups who inhabit these areas.
