Acai palm Euterpe oleracea, is a species of Arecaceae grown for its acaí berries commonly found in South America and elsewhere in the tropics. Acaí palms can grow as high as 25 meters. The fruit is small, round and dark purple in color and looks like a grape. The acai palm bears fruit all year, and has become popular because of its health properties.
