manazuru-1.jpg
Manazuru Hanto Peninsula protrudes into Sagami Bay. Its distinctive shape make it a popular spot for fishing and diving. The forest that occupies the southern part of the peninsula adds a dash of untouched nature, rare in this part of Japan. Cape Manazuru was formed on the edge of the Manazuru-hanto Peninsula when lava from Hakone Volcano plunged into Sagami Bay and solidified. There are three peculiar-looking rocks projecting out of the sea by the edge of Cape Manazuru. They are called Mitsuishi “three rock” and are defining features of Cape Manazuru.
