Shinkansen 500 Serie at the Kyoto Railway Museum - The Shinkansen 500 Series was operated by JR West on the Tokaido Shinkansen Nozomi Express lines. They ran at 300 kph though were capable of speeds up to 320. The 500 series was retired from JR service in 2010. The 500 Series of Shinkasen Nozomi was one of the most popular designs, because of its long thin needle shape.
