Mentaiko, Pollock Roe

Mentaiko is the marinated roe of pollock, and is considered a delicacy in Japanese cuisine. It is often eaten with onigiri, but is also enjoyed by itself with sake. A common variety is spicy mentaiko, popular in Kyushu especially in Fukuoka.
