traditional-hula-04.jpg
Hula is the traditional art of movement using smooth, flowing body gestures. These movements tell a story and represent movements of nature: trees blowing in the wind, fish swimming in the ocean. The Hawaiian goddess Laka separated hula into two groups: Olapa or Agile - representing the younger energetic dancers and dances. Hoopaa or Steadfast represented older dancers. All hula dances originate from a series of only six moves with many ways of using these movements & gestures to create unique and beautiful dance and story.
