50. Glover Garden 旧グラバー住宅 is a park in Nagasaki built for Thomas Blake Glover, a Scottish entrepreneur who contributed in a big way to the modernization of Japan. Within the gardens stand the Glover Residence, the oldest Western style house surviving in Japan, statues of Puccini and Chouchou-san of Madame Butterfly fame. Glover’s home and surrounding gardens overlook Nagasaki Harbor.
