  • The Vietnam North-South Railway, also known as the Reunification Express, is a railway that runs from Ha Noi to Ho Chi Minh City. The total length of this railway is 1,726 km (1,079 miles), with a gauge of 1 m (39"). The railway passes following provinces: Ha Noi, Ha Nam, Nam Đinh, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien-Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan, Dong Nai, Binh Dương, Ho Chi Minh City. The railway follows the coastline of Vietnam through beautiful coastal landscapes.

  • All trains use the main Hanoi train station for daily services from cities in the south including Hue, Danang and Nha Trang. The Reunification Express goes all the way to Ho Chi Minh City, although there is very little 'express' about it.
