  • Nakagin Capsule Tower is both a residential and office tower designed by architect Kisho Kurokawa in Tokyo. Built in 1972, the building is an example of Japanese metabolism architecture. Nakajin was the world's first example of capsule architecture built for permanent and practical use. The capsules can be individually removed or replaced. The building still stands but has fallen into disrepair, and several times it has nearly faced demolition and redevelopment. These days only a few of the capsules are still used as apartments. Others are used for storage or office space, or abandoned and deteriorating. Remaining tenants are still trying to save the tower, by requesting donations from around the world to purchase all of the capsules and preserve and renovate the building.

  • NACT National Art Center is a museum that is a joint project of the National Museums of Japan and the Japanese Agency for Cultural Affairs. It is located on land in Roppongi that once belonged to Tokyo University. The extraordinary building was designed by architect Kurokawa Kisho. Unlike most art museums in Japan with permanent collection, NACT only hosts special shows and exhibitions and was set up to accommodate temporary exhibitions sponsored and curated by other organizations. So far its exhibitions and special shows have been very well attended, in fact, record-breaking numbers have visited. NACT says that it is “the first in the world” of its kind, but in fact has been modeled on the German model of Kunsthalle.

  • The blueprint of Kuala Lumpur Sentral Station began with the masterplan of a "City within a City" concept designed by the renowned architect Dr. Kisho Kurokawa. The concept of Kuala Lumpur Sentral is holistic, and its design reflects this. Cutting edge technology blends with spacious plazas, indoor courtyards, sidewalk cafes, shops, restaurants and numerous pedestrian walkways. Throughout the complex, landscaped greenery and buffer zones add to a sense of harmony. Oh, and it is also a railway station the mass transit hub for Kuala Lumpur.
